| Online sellers don't know legal obligations |
Many businesses selling goods online don't know their obligations under the Distance Selling Regulations, which provide protection for consumers buying products over the Internet. Firms could also do more to reassure consumers over their concerns about their privacy and security, according to a new Office of Fair Trading (OFT) report into Internet shopping. The OFT says that although the online market is worth more than £21.4 billion and benefits both buyers and sellers, more can be done to make the most of its opportunities.
